June 1992

I make books because I am fascinated with poetry, because I love making things with my hands, because I'm hooked on typography and the design of books.

I produce limited editions of contemporary poetry that I hope will appeal to others in both form and content. I start with a text that speaks to me - one that I think should be read. While I have prefered to set type by hand and use illustrations that can be reproduced directly by hand techniques, some of my recent printing combines digital and hand processes.

Every edition teaches me something new about language, about type, about paper, about the process, about myself.
