Clay Hills a story
by J.V. Brummels
with drawings by Jeanne Cejka
|
Cattleman and widower Matthew French has achieved
a measure of balance in his life on the land of northern Nebraska.
That balance is shattered when he is faced with the needs of
a terminally ill brother, the possibility of romance, and the
threat of violence. Alison Wilson has hand set and printed this
story in Poliphilus Roman type and Bodoni Open titling on Bugra
paper. She has sewn the book with a visible long stitch into
covers of Indian rag and gunny paper and endsheets of chutney
Protera. Three drawings and the cover, a US Geological Survey
map with title and author on the spine, were printed from photoengraved
plates in brown. 26 pages. 150 copies. 7 1/8 x 7 1/8 inches.
