Native American Studies Advising
Students minoring in Native American Studies should coordinate their program through the department holiday their major. However, those having questions about the program, or their Native American Studies minor may visit with Dr. Beth Ritter about the requirements and their standing in the completion of their program.
A Native American Studies minor or as a cognate or secondary field for certain bachelor's degrees requires 18 hours of coursework accepted by the Native American Studies program. NAS 1100 (Introduction to Native American Studies) is required for the minor. Twelve of the 18 hours must be 3000 and/or 4000 level courses. A grade of "C" or better is required for all classes. Students may also elect an interdisciplinary major with an emphasis in Native American Studies (through the College of Arts and Sciences). The program should be initiated by the beginning of the junior year.
A list of current courses that are accepted toward the Native American Studies minor can be found at http:www.unomaha.edu/nas/courses.htm
