Dr. Foust graduated from Arkansas State University as Bachelor of Musical Education in Vocal Music. She taught in the Forrest City School system for two years before going to University of Iowa to continue her musical education. There she pursued her Master of Arts degree and went on to complete her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy. While at Iowa, Dr. Foust studied voice under Stephen Swanson and was coached by Darlene Lawrence, Richard Boldery, Beaumont Glass and John Muriello. While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Foust held the title role of "Sister Angelica" in Puccini's Suor Angelica and as "Lady Billows" in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring. An avid lover of art song, she pursues that love through recitals with fellow musicians. Dr. Foust loves teaching and has maintained a private voice studio since 1991. Dr. Foust has taught at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska and continued her teaching career at Arkansas Northeastern College. She permanently relocated to Omaha now and is thrilled to be teaching at UNO. She also teaches privately at Sharon North Jones studios (SNJ) and teaches music appreciation online for Metro Community College.
