Jazz Auditions

Jazz Auditions will be held the week of August 13-17

Saxophone, Trumpet and Trombone auditions will consist of the following:

Chromatic Scale (at least 2 octaves; entire range of instrument preferred)
Sight-reading
Improvisation (optional but recommended)-you may bring your own Play-a-Long CD or solo over Bb or F Blues
Required Excerpt - "Wind Machine"
Alto Sax
Tenor Sax
Bari Sax
Trumpet
Trombone
Bass Trombone

Rhythm Section auditions will consist of the following:

Sight-reading
Demonstration of different styles such as swing, Latin, and rock
Improvisation over Bb or F blues (optional but recommended)
Required Excerpt - "Wind Machine"
Piano
Guitar
Bass
Drums
