Choir Auditions

Choir Auditions will be held the week of August 13-17

Requirements

Auditions for the Concert and Chamber Choir will consist of the following:

A short prepared piece (Solo or 1 verse of a hymn or folk song) of student’s choosing
Vocal range assessment
Tonal memory
Rhythm memory
Sight-reading
Required Excerpt
* Students should prepare the part for their voice range (SATB).


Auditions for Jazz Choir will consist of the following:
Vocal range assessment
Tonal memory
Rhythm memory
Sight-reading
Improvisation
Excerpt 1 Prepare the part for your voice range (SATB).
Excerpt 2 Learn all of this excerpt and be able to sing with a midi rhythm section accompaniment. You should be able to sing the rhythms exactly as written and be able to deviate slightly from them.
