The MavCARD is your official identification card for the University of Nebraska at Omaha. For students, the MavCARD is also used to access many services on campus including entrance into Campus Recreation, free admittance to regular season home Maverick athletic events, entrance into campus sponsored events & checking out books at the Criss Library. Money can be added to your card, called MavMONEY, which can be used to make purchases across campus & at select off campus merchants.
Your MavCARD can also be a prox card that provides you with access to locked buildings & rooms or entrance into the parking garages.
Money can be added to your MavCARD, called MavMONEY, to make purchases across campus and at select off-campus businesses. If you use your MavCARD to pay at the MBSC Food Court, Library Café, MavREC Café or the MBSC Convenience Store, you will automatically receive 15% off your purchase just for using MavMONEY to pay.

Report your MavCARD lost right away. You can do this by calling our office (402.554.2220), visiting MavCARD Online (login & click on Lost/Stolen Card), or open the MavCARD Mobile app and click on “Lost Card.” This will put a hold on your MavCARD so that nobody else can use it. If you find your card, stop into the MavCARD Services office and we can reactivate the card. If you need a replacement MavCARD, stop into the MavCARD Services office for a replacement card. There is a fee of $10.00.

In order to obtain a Faculty, Staff or Student MavCARD, you must come to the MavCard Services Office, located on the 2nd floor of the Milo Bail Student Center. We are located in the Business Office. A photo ID, such as a driver's license, government or state issued ID, military ID or passport is required before you receive your MavCARD. You must also have your NU ID (Student ID) Number.
New students may receive their MavCARD at their Orientation session.
Office hours are Monday - Friday: 8:00AM - 5:00 PM.
Yes, the red MavCARD is still valid. If you wish to obtain the new black MavCARD, stop into the MavCARD Services office and we can issue you a new card with a new picture for the replacement fee of $10.00.
The semester fee is for maintenance on all machines & equipment for the MavCARD Services office. The fee is not a new card fee, as the first card you receive at the university should last the entire time you are a student. Even if you do not take classes for a semester, hold onto your MavCARD and it will reactivate when you re-enroll.
No. The first card you are given is good for as long as you take classes. You do not need a new one unless your card has stopped working or you need to upgrade to a prox card for entrance into a building, parking garage or room.

Short for proximity card; a contactless smart card used for door access. On campus, prox cards are used for door access, parking garage access, residence hall access & more. You can tell if you have a prox card by looking for numbers on the bottom right hand side of the back of your MavCARD. If you need a prox card, but do not have one, visit our office, bring us your current MavCARD and we will provide you with a prox card.
Please DO NOT punch holes or bend a prox card. Keep it in a safe place where it won’t get scratched up or damaged.
Yes! MavCARD Services is now offering gift certificates for purchase. Visit our office and we will add the MavMONEY directly to the recipients MavCARD (student or Faculty/Staff). Their MavMONEY will be instantly available. We will provide you with a printed gift certificate you can personalize. Please call or email the MavCARD Services Manager if you have any questions.
