Online Courses & Programs

The University of Nebraska at Omaha has a wide variety of bachelors, masters, and certificate courses and full programs online. Many of these were developed with the military student in mind. These can be a great way to continue coursework while deployed or on TDY, to fit classes into a busy or swing schedule, or to complete your degree with UNO outside of the Omaha-metro area. UNO's online courses and programs follow the same high quality standards as those on campus and there is no indication of it being an online degree or course on the transcript.

To find all online courses available by semester:

Go to the UNO Class Schedule

Select the semester

Under the Class Search you can view online classes by selecting "Online" for the Location and selecting a Subject.

Any student can take online courses as it fits their schedule, whether they are in an online degree program or not. Some online classes do require proctored exams (though, students can usually find their own proctors if they are not in the Omaha/Offutt AFB area) or synchronous online meetings, so check the Class Notes or talk to your Academic Advisor to see if there are any special requirements for the course.

UNO has a Distance Education site where you can see a list of all of the fully online and blended degrees and certificates the University has to offer.

The tuition and fees for online courses vary from those on campus, so students should check out the Tuition & Fee Rates page to find out more about costs.

For students using military tuition assistance, there are no restrictions on taking online classes as part of your TA.
