Maverick Basketball Women and Men Defeat Bearcats

Maverick senior LaToya Wright led four UNO players in double figures with a season-high 17 points Saturday afternoon (December 13) as the Maverick women's basketball team cruised to a 87-63 victory over Northwest Missouri State in the Sapp Fieldhouse. Wright, who scored 15 points in the first half, was joined in double figures by Ellen Majewski (16), Amanda Brodsack (14) and Alyssa Green (11). Junior Jill Wolf had a career-high 12 rebounds while adding six points and a pair of assists. UNO improved to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in the MIAA. The Maverick men followed with a 73-64 victory with sophomore guard Mitch Albers scoring a season-high 25 points. Albers made six three-pointers to lead the UNO men's team. The Mavericks are 7-1 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA.
