Filling Backpacks to the Brim

From left, students Leslie Perez, Margarita Rodriguez and Alondra Payan show off their new backpacks with Durango following a May 19 celebration at the Salvation Army Kroc Center near 29th and Y Streets. During the spring semester, UNO's Staff Advisory Council collected nearly 5,500 highlighters for the Salvation Army's Back-to-School Backpack Program. Creighton University and College of St. Mary also collected school supplies for the Salvation Army program earlier this year.
