UNO Places 13th at National Forensic Tournament
UNO Forensics finished 13th in the nation, out of 88 schools, at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament in Austin earlier this month. Five UNO competitors advanced to elimination rounds; two advanced to quarterfinals; three to semi-finals; and two to the final rounds of competition.
Lauren Ackerman was third place overall in Program of Oral Interpretation. Teresa Oberdorfer finished sixth overall in Poetry Interpretation. Buey Ruet advanced to semi-final rounds in Persuasion. Matt Eledge and Cameron Logsdon both advanced in Poetry Interpretation to quarterfinal rounds.
For the first time, UNO achieved its team goal of placing within the nation's Top 20, moving up 12 spots from last year's 25th-place finish.
