Students must be admitted into the University Honors Program to receive honors credit. There is no deadline to apply. However if you have not been admitted and wish to receive honors credit for a course, you must notify the honors office by the last day to drop classes with a 'W' ( this is usually the 1st Friday in Nov. for fall semester and 1st Friday in April for spring semester).
The Mathematics Department offers honors components of each section of Calculus I, II, and III (Math 1950, 1960, and 1970) each Fall and Spring semester. The honors components are part of a regular section and have extra work assigned for honors credit. The prerequisite for an honors section is the same as the prerequisite for a regular section. However, to receive honors credit the student must complete the work assigned by the Honors Coordinator in a satisfactory manner. This includes receiving a grade of A- or better for the course.
