Phase transition model for heterogenous Boolean networks

Description

A Boolean network model will be generated for the critical condition indicating the transition of a Boolean network from order to chaos. The network is comprised of several different types of nodes: threshold, canalizing with various degrees of canalization, or biased. The influence of a variable on the output of each Boolean function in the network will be computed and the average network influence will be used to generate the critical condition for phase transition. The model will be simulated using Matlab or other mathematics software. The link with genetic networks will be indicated and explored.

The student involved in this project will present the results during the Math Awareness Month symposium in April 2013.
