LMS Committee Meeting: LMS Project UpdateMay 11, 2010

Blackboard has been in use for more than 10 years and has become integral to teaching and learning at UNO. This fall campus-wide discussions are occurring because faculty and student needs for a LMS have changed, LMS’s have matured and the cost of Blackboard has increased substantially.
Project Goals:
Through these discussions, Information Technology Services (ITS) would like to determine:
- How are faculty and students using a LMS now and what will be needed in the future.
- Is Blackboard the best fit for addressing campus needs?
Results of the discussion will determine next steps with Blackboard and/or if further investigations for an alternative LMS are necessary.
LMS Committee Responsibilities:
Each month the LMS committee will meet to discuss how we use a LMS. To aid in that discussion the meeting agendas will include a demonstration of different LMS products along with discussion. All meetings will be held at 11:00 am in the Milo Bail Student Center, Council Room.
- September 11 Blackboard Version 9 (Bb 9)
- October 9 Moodle
- November 13 Sakai
In addition to the monthly meetings ITS has asked all committee members to also participate in one information session on a LMS product during September, October or November.
