Wendy M. Wright is Professor of Theology at Creighton University and holds the John C. Kenefick Faculty Chair in the Humanities. She also teaches regularly in the Creighton University Graduate Program in Christian Spirituality and has been involved in teaching and advising at other graduate and professional programs, such as the United Methodist Academy for Spiritual Formation.
She received her PhD in Late Medieval/Early Modern Contemplative Studies in the Program in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Her areas of expertise include the history of spirituality and the Catholic devotional tradition. Her scholarly work has focused on the Salesian spiritual tradition founded by Francis de Sales and Jane de Chantal.
Wright is the author of fourteen books, the most recent of which is The Essential Spirituality Handbook, part of the Essential Handbook Series (Liguori Publications, 2009). She has written over fifty articles in books, refereed journals, monographs, and published lectures.
Her interest in the practice of Christian spirituality and the Catholic devotional tradition has led to another seventy-five articles published in pastoral publications.
She co-hosts the Creighton University podcast “Catholic Comments” with Dr. J. O’Keefe.
