Robert Torry

Robert Torry is an Associate Professor of American Literature at the University of Wyoming, where he teaches the courses on the interpretation and history of film.

He received his Ph.D. in American Literature and Critical Theory from SUNY-Buffalo. He has published numerous articles explicating films and is presently working on a major study of Steven Spielberg's work.

His 1991 article, "Apocalypse Then: Benefits of the Bomb in 50's Science Fiction Films" (Cinema Journal), addresses some of the issues in this article.

He is now writing a textbook for film and religion courses with his colleague Dr. Paul Flesher
