Dr. Carl B. Greiner is a Professor of Psychiatry and Vice Chair of Telepsychiatry. He focused on consultation-liaison with the medically ill patients with psychiatric problems. He took a summer fellowship in medical ethics at Dartmouth College. For the last ten years, he has developed expertise in forensic psychiatry in which he has special qualifications. During his 2008 sabbatical, he did expanded studies at New York University and with the National Health Service in Scotland. He is currently working with medical students on the relationship between medicine and the humanities.
Dr, Greiner took his undergraduate degree at Miami of Ohio in history. His medical school and residency were at the University of Cincinnati. He has been a faculty member at the University of Nebraska Medical Center since 1982.
Dr. Greiner is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a member of the American College of Psychiatrists.
