Live the Tradition Not the Addiction

Tobacco Brochure

Our ancestors used tobacco in sacred ceremonies and it is still used today in healing ceremonies. If our ancestors knew how bad it is to smoke cigarettes today, they would encourage us to stop. Our ancestors would want us to be healthy, live long lives, and take care of our families.

We are encouraging people to protect their children and families by not smoking around them. If you do smoke, the best place to smoke is outside your home, but not near a window or door which will let the smoke inside. Also, remember not to smoke in your car.

It has been proven that second hand smoke can cause numerous health problems in children living in a home with someone who smokes. Among those health problems, are

  • bronchitis,

  • pneumoniam

  • wheezing and

  • coughing;

  • more ear infections, and

  • more frequent and severe asthma attacks.
