Student Employee of the Year 2012.
Every year, many of the departments at UNO take the time to recognize the invaluable contributions of the student workers who give so much to the University and the campus community. Through their hard work, the University is enriched and improved. Although only one of the nominated students can be chosen to be UNO's Student Employee of the Year, all of them will be honored and recognized at the Student Employment Ceremony on April 23, 2012. The Ceremony will be held in the MBSC Ballroom from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Refreshments will be served and the entire campus community is invited to attend.
To nominate a student, please download the form below and return it to Tim Rochford - Human Resources - EAB 205 by March 9, 2012.
2012 STUDENT EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
GUIDELINES
Eligible Students:
All students employed in Student Worker or Work Study positions. Graduate assistants and teaching assistants are not eligible.
Eligible Terms of Employment:
Students must have been employed for a minimum of 6 months part-time between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012 (anticipated).
Selection Criteria
Students will be evaluated on the following qualities:
(In case of a tie, "uniqueness of contribution" will be the deciding factor.)
- Dedication and professionalism
- Responsibility/reliability
- Initiative/creativity
- Uniqueness of the student employee’s contribution.
Selection
The nomination letters will be read and evaluated by a committee made up of campus staff who work with student employees. No person working with any of the nominated students will be on the committee. The committee members will each evaluate the nomination letters and assign them points according to the criteria listed above. The committee will then meet to discuss their evaluations of the nominating letters and review their votes to choose the Student Employee of the Year. In case of a tie, the criteria of “uniqueness of the student employee’s contribution” will be the deciding factor in the committee’s final vote.
Award
The student chosen as the Student Employee of the Year will receive a check for $100 from the UNO Alumni Association.
Ceremony
The Student Employment Reception will be held on April 23, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom. The event is open to the entire campus community.
