at High Noon at the Henningson Campanile

HOW DO YOU STACK UP AGAINST HUNGER?

Over 36,600 lbs. of food collected since its inception

A UNOmaha Tradition

2007 Rules

1. The event is open to any organization or team of three individuals who are UNO students, faculty, administration or staff.

2. There is no entry fee, however you must be officially registered to win an award. Registration is due by noon on Oct. 15, 2007. Entrants who register but do not show up for the event will be ineligible for next year's contest.

3. All food cans brought to the contest will be donated to the Omaha Food Bank.

4. The stacking contest will take place from the first chime of the noon toll to the twelfth chime (approximately one minute and thirty seconds).

5. Because space will be limited, only three individuals from each team can actually stack cans during the contest, but others may be present to bring food cans to the participants and to cheer them on, as long as they do not interfere with any other team's progress. Cans outside the designated space or cans stacked on other cans outside the space will not be counted for award purposes. If any materials, other than cans are used in the stack, the team will not be eligible for awards. More than three individuals stacking cans for a team will also result in ineligibility for awards.

6. You may stack any size of food cans (in an area that is 20" square), but the winning team will be the team with the largest total number of food cans legally stacked within the designated space. The time for stacking the cans is limited to the time that the noon bells toll.

7. Plaques will be awarded as follows:

A. Largest (Grand Prize) and second largest total of food cans stacked in the student category and largest total of food cans stacked in the faculty/staff/administration category.
B. Most creative. May include costumes of the stackers or their suporters.
C. Most enthusiastic team

Teams may win one or more plaques. If more than 16 teams are entered, second place plaques will be awarded for all categories.

8. Judges will be representatives from the local news media and/or community or campus leaders. Decisions of the judges are final.
