Simple Things to do at Work

Try changing some of your daily habits with these simple steps:

1.) Try wearing layers instead of adjusting your thermostat or using a space heater.
This will decrease your energy consumption and (in the case of space heaters) improve workplace safety.

2.) Not using it? Then turn it off.
You can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by turning off your appliances and electronics.

3.) Walk or bike to campus.

This is an excellent way to get in shape, and you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot.

4.) Use public transportation.
Cut down on the money you spend on gas by utilizing the city transportation.

5.) Carpool:
Try finding a friend that lives close to you, and coordinate your schedules so that you can ride together.

6.) Reduce the amount of paper you use
by sending electronic copies and not using paper at all. If you must print, use both sides. Instead of printing numerous copies, edit your paper electronically.

7.) Bring your own mug or thermos to a coffee stand or to the Food Court
to reduce the amount of waste produced from paper or Styrofoam cups.
