What is Sustainability?
Sustainability is simply living in such a way that future generations can do the same.
This means we must practice stewardship of our resources so that we, and those that
follow after us, may continue to enjoy good health, prosperity and a healthy planet.
The information on this site is provided to help share what has and is being done to
make our campus more sustainable and to help explore what can be done individually,
both on campus and at home.
Sustainability Master Plan
UNO has begun the process of creating a Sustainability Master Plan (SMP) to
think critically about what we could be doing, prioritize our near-term actions, next
steps and future opportunities and to provide the framework to guide these efforts
with respect to economy, ecology and equity. The Sustainability Committee selected
Verdis Group to help guide us through this inclusive process by engaging faculty, staff,
students, alumni and our community. As our stakeholders, your opinions and ideas are
important to us. Please take a few moments to fill out the feedback form below and
