What if I am not attending graduation?
If you do not attend the ceremony your diploma will be mailed to you approximately 15-20 days after commencement.
Do I need to RSVP?
You are not required to RSVP for commencement or any receptions.
Does participating in the ceremony mean that I graduated?
No, all those who participate in the ceremony are candidates for graduation. We do not have final grades at the time of the commencement ceremonies to determine if all degree requirements have been met.
Is there a graduation rehearsal?
No, there is no graduation rehearsal. Graduates will receive printed instructions when they pick up their cap and gown.
What should I wear?"
Dress comfortably but appropriately under your commencement robes. Men should wear a dress shirt and tie. Although some consider the ties optional, the shirt collar and tie are visible at the throat of the gown. Most women prefer to wear a dress, suit or skirt and blouse, although dress slacks are also appropriate. Try to choose a dress or skirt with a hemline that does not extend below the gown. Wear comfortable dress shoes. Remember, your graduation may be outdoors, so high heels might not be appropriate. Leave purses with family and friends so that you can walk unencumbered across the stage. Candidates graduating with honors will wear medallions that are available for pick up with the cap and gown.
Will there be a photographer and can I purchase any commencement photos?
Graduates will have the opportunity to purchase professional photographs. A professional photographer will take pictures of each graduate before, during and after their walk across the stage. Proofs, plus information about ordering prints, will be provided via email approximately three weeks after the ceremony.
Where should I park?
Free parking is available throughout campus. See the Parking page for more information.
