Use of Human Subjects or Animals in Research

All campus research that involves the use of human subjects or animals must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board or the Animal Research Committee, respectively. This policy applies to both funded and non-funded faculty and student research. Any individual research project that involves human subjects or animals must be approved by the appropriate committee prior to initiation of the research. PLEASE NOTE: All personnel engaged in human subjects research must undergo training in the protection of human subjects. The Institutional Review Board will not approve an application until all key personnel are trained and certified. This includes both non-exempt and exempt human subjects.
