Up to TopA: The deadline in this email refers to the deadline date of your online application, which is different for the application deadline for a department. You have 60 days from the date that you begin your online application to finish and submit it. Failure to submit your application within 60 days will result in your application being deleted from the system. You will then need to begin the online application again in order to submit it.
Up to TopA: You may track your items received by logging onto mavlink. Your login information is your NUID and password that you used when you created your application. By selecting Student Center (blue box on the right) you will be guided to your student information.
Up to TopA:Simply ask your new recommender to submit a letter via this Graduate Studies email account graduate@unomaha.edu as an attachment. Please ask them to note your name in the Subject line. There is no longer a form to fill out. We suggest that the Letter of Recommendation be submitted via a personal email address. We have found that some company/organization security filters prevent an email from being delivered. It will be added/substituted and uploaded with your application.
Up to TopA: This requirement is specific to each program. Please contact the department to which you are applying for details on what you need to include.
Up to TopA: It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for us to receive GRE scores. They are submitted on compact disc. We upload them within 24 hours of receipt. If you have requested these scores and it has been longer than four weeks please contact ETS and ask for the 'cycle number' of the disc that your scores were submitted on and date sent. This will assist us in checking for them further.
Up to TopA: We recommend that you first verify your recommender’s email address. If the email address is correct, have your recommender check his or her spam folder to see if the email is caught in a security filter. If your recommender still cannot locate the email, he or she can submit the letter of recommendation directly to graduate@unomaha.edu as an attachment. There is no form to fill out. We suggest that the Letter of Recommendation be submitted via a personal email address. We have found that some company/organization/mail service sites have strict security filters that prevent an email from being delivered.
Up to TopA: As documents are received, we will update your To-Do list. You can check your To-Do list through mavlink. You can also check your application status by going to your mavlink Student Center. Under Admissions, select “View Status” in your “My Applications” box.
Up to TopA: It can take up to 2 weeks (or more, in some cases) for a transcript to arrive to us in the mail. Once we receive your transcript, it can take up to 2 business days to process and post your transcript to our system. If it is within this two-week window, it is possible that we have received your transcript but are still processing it.
If it has been more than 12 business days since you requested your transcript, we recommend that you first contact the other educational institution and verify 1) the date sent and 2) the mailing address they used to send your transcript, before contacting the Office of Graduate Studies. Having this information ahead of time will help us assist you more quickly in tracking down your transcripts.
If your transcript may have come in under a different name, it is possible that we have it but have not been able to match it up to your application due to the name differences. If this is a possibility, please let us know when you contact us. That will also expedite our search and help us track down your transcripts.
Up to TopA: Please send any additional application materials to us via email at graduate@unomaha.edu. We prefer to receive these documents in pdf format but we can also work with Word Documents.
Up to TopA: Your application along with all of your application materials is forwarded to the specific department to which you applied, and the department will start the review process.
Up to TopA: Each department sets their own review schedule and procedure. Once your application has been sent over to the department, you will need to contact the department or the department’s graduate program chair directly to find out where they are at in the review process and approximately how long it will take for them to make an admission decision.
Up to TopA: An evaluation form is completed by the Graduate Program Chair of the department and sent to the Office of Graduate Studies. The evaluation form is processed as quickly as possible. The evaluation process can take up to 72 hours from start to finish. This process includes admitting to the program and creating the matriculation. If you receive notification from the department, it is only advisory; official notification will be sent to you by the Office of Graduate Studies.
Up to TopA: You will receive an official admission letter directly from the Office of Graduate Studies. This will include a letter outlining the admission decision, a copy of your degree audit for your specific program, and an information sheet explaining some specifics about mavlink.
Up to TopA: This type of hold usually does not activate until your second semester here at UNO. If you are admitted with this provision, it means that when you applied to your program, you were currently enrolled at another college or university, and the transcript that we have on file shows partial or in-progress classes. You have one semester to submit a final transcript to us. If you see this type of hold your account and it is your first semester here at UNO, go ahead and enroll in classes. Then contact your previous college or university and request that a final transcript be sent to the UNO Office of Graduate Studies at:
University of Nebraska at Omaha
Office of Graduate Studies
6001 Dodge St, EAB 203
Omaha, NE 68182-0209.
