The 2013 Gandhi Award will be presented during the Annual Symposium slated for Friday, April 5, 2013.  This event will be held at the Swanson Conference Center on the Metro Community College campus, 5370 North 30th Street, Omaha (map). The symposium will feature Deborah Altschul, Ph.D., Research Assistant Professor, University of New Mexico, presenting on the Issue of cultural competence in the field of mental health.

Award Nominations

We encourage nominations of individuals or organizations that exemplify selfless service to society sustained over a period of time, social change through nonviolent measures, creative social action, and advocacy on behalf of populations at risk. To nominate someone go to the Award Nomination Form page. All nominations and supporting materials must be received by the School of Social Work by Friday, March 15, 2013. The cost is $15.00 for either the luncheon only or $30.00 for the symposium and luncheon, payable at the door. CEUs will also be available for no additional cost.
