OMAHA – A partnership between two University of Nebraska campuses is bringing the works of University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) faculty to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Art Gallery beginning Friday, Oct. 10.
The showcase of UNK artwork explores an array of concepts and interests from larger theoretical issues to personal discovering through media including drawing, painting, photography, print making, graphic design, ceramics and glass.
Artists for the exhibit include Jackie Coyle-Abell, Derrick Burbul, William Cavill, Tom Dennis, John Fronczak, Victoria Goro-Rapoport, Mark Hartman, Lisa Kastello, Dan May, Steven Ramsey, Richard Schuessler, Mallory Wetherell and Doug Waterfield.
Each of the artists are full-time faculty members in the UNK Department of Art and Art History, which offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees as well as K-12 Art Education endorsement and a Master of Arts in Education degree.
A special opening reception will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, in the UNO Art Gallery, which is located inside the Weber Fine Arts Building on UNO’s Dodge Campus. The exhibit will run through Thursday, Nov. 13.
UNO Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays. The Gallery will be closed Monday, Oct. 20, and Tuesday, Oct. 21, during UNO’s fall break.
Appointments at times when the gallery is not usually open are encouraged. All events are free and open to the public and the gallery is accessible to people with disabilities.
