Fall 2014 BASA Graduating Seniors Exhibition - Criss Library Osborne Family Gallery

Opening Reception: Sunday, November 23, 2014, 3 - 5 p.m.
Show ends: Saturday, December 20, 2014
(following Commencement Ceremonies)

Student Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligible students must be Graduating in December of 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts degree. 

Exhibiton Participation Deadline for Students - Monday, November 3, 2014.
To participate in the BASA show, send the folllowing information by e-mail (unoartgallery@unomaha.edu) or in writing to Denise at the Gallery as soon as possible, but not later than Monday, November 3, 3 p.m.

(1) Name as listed in MavLink
(2) Student ID #
(3) Email that you use daily
(4) Cell/Home Phone that you use daily
(5) Name of Studio Faculty Mentor who will choose work with you.

The Department will verify your eligibility after receiving the above information. You may proceed to select and prepare your artwork after your eligility is confirmed. You will receive a confirmation email.

Artwork Eligibility Requirements

  • All participating students must provide the UNO Gallery Coordinator with label information for the selected works AND a brief artist's statement, no more than 200 words, two weeks prior to the exhibition.
  • All work must be produced while a student at UNO.
  • Only works not shown in a previous UNO Gallery exhibition are eligible for the exhibition.
  • Works for the BASA Exhibition must be selected with the approval of your studio faculty mentor.
  • Work must be assigned a sale price (preferred) or if not for sale, an insurance value. (Works labeled ‘por’ will not be accepted.)
  • The UNO Art Gallery retains a 20% commission on sale of all works, and the Gallery will handle sales.
  • Students may submit 2-3 works. Depending on size and number of students in the show and on space limitations, the Gallery may select only one or two of the submitted works to exhibit.
  • All work must be framed and ready to install.
  • Works that use paint or other materials that emit gas must be completely dry and odorless before installation.
  • Any electrical components or special exhibition needs must be pre-approved by the UNO Gallery Coordinator and the Criss Library Building Manager.

Send Label Information and Artists Statement to unoartgallery@unomaha.edu as soon as possible and no later than November 10, 2014.

Label information must also be attached to the artwork.

Label information should include:
• Artist's Name (as on gallery label)
• Title of Work
• Media
• Dimensions (in inches h X w X d - approximate numbers ok)
• Sale Price (The Gallery receives a 20% commission from this price.) OR Insurance Value (if not for sale).
• List the Semester, Course & Teacher the work was created for

Artist's Statement - see your faculty mentor for guidance.

Deliver Approved Work to Criss Library Osborne Family Gallery:
Tuesday, November 18, 2014, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Osborne Family Gallery may be locked - go to the Office or Circulation Desk to be let in. (Delivery between 5 and 9 p.m. on Tues. can be arranged IF YOU CALL the Library office - (402) 554-2640 - BEFORE 5 p.m. to make arrangements.)

Pick up Work after the show: 2 - 5 p.m., Saturday, December 20 or noon - 5 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014.
The Osborne Family Gallery may be locked when you stop by - go to the Office or Circulation Desk to be let in.
