WHEREAS, members of the senate’s Faculty Grievance Committee and Professional Conduct Committee are elected by ballot vote of the senate, and

WHEREAS, the Faculty Grievance Committee’s election is currently held in the month of September while the Professional Conduct Committee’s election is currently held in the month of October; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Faculty Senate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha hereby changes the Professional Conduct Committee’s election to the month of September to run concurrent with the Faculty Grievance Committee’s election, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Senate Bylaws, Article VI, Section 6, 6.3 be amended as follows:

6.3 Professional Conduct Committee. This committee, composed of five (5) tenured UNO faculty members holding the rank of assistant professor or above, will consider all professional conduct cases arising under section 4.15 of the Bylaws of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska. The election to fill committee vacancies due to resignation, retirement, or the expiration of a three-year term shall be held at the September meeting each year. The faculty senate shall choose committee members by plurality vote from a list of nominees prepared by the Committee on Rules. The ballot shall list one more nominee for each vacancy than there are positions to be filled and, insofar as feasible, wide representation of the faculty should be sought in the composition of the committee. Members of the committee shall serve staggered terms, meaning that the term(s) of one class of members will expire each year. Retiring members shall continue to serve for three (3) years as alternates who will be available as committee replacements should the need arise in a particular case. The committee shall elect its own chairperson from the membership. A committee with a case under consideration shall, when necessary, continue past September with its membership unchanged until the case is resolved; in such an event, new cases shall be considered by the reconstituted committee.

BE IT RESOLVED, that one representative must be elected by ballot vote to serve a three-year term from September 16, 2009, through September 15, 2012, to replace outgoing members, Jack Heidel and Juliette Parnell, whose terms have expired. In accordance with Section 1.1 of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Professional Conduct Committee's Rules and Procedures, the following four nominees (all tenured faculty ranked assistant professor or above) are brought forward by the Committee on Rules for ballot election by the full senate as follows:

The two newly elected representatives will also serve as alternates for three-years from September 16, 2012, through September 15, 2015.

Jack Heidel and Juliette Parnell will continue serving as alternates (replacing Donna Dufner and Richard Stacy) for three-years, from September 16, 2009, through September 15, 2012, per Resolution R2694.

BE IT RESOLVED, that one representative must be elected by ballot vote to serve a three-year term from September 16, 2008, through September 15, 2011, to replace outgoing member Bob Nash. In accordance with Section 1.1 of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Professional Conduct Committee's Rules and Procedures, the following two nominees (all tenured faculty ranked assistant professor or above) are brought forward by the Committee on Rules for ballot election by the full senate as follows:

BE IT RESOLVED, that two representatives must be elected by ballot vote to serve three-year terms from September 16, 2007, through September 15, 2010, to replace outgoing members Lisa Boucher and James Dick. In accordance with Section 1.1 of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Professional Conduct Committee's Rules and Procedures, the following four nominees (all tenured faculty ranked assistant professor or above) are brought forward by the Committee on Rules for ballot election by the full senate as follows:

BE IT RESOLVED, that in accordance with Section 1.1 of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Professional Conduct Committee's Rules and Procedures, the following four nominees (all tenured faculty ranked assistant professor or above) are brought forward by the Committee on Rules for ballot election by the full senate as follows:

Two representative must be elected by ballot vote to serve three-year terms from October 16, 2006, through October 15, 2009, to replace outgoing members Donna Dufner and Richard Stacy. These newly elected representatives will also serve as alternate for three- years from October 16, 2009, through October 15, 2012.

Kathleen Danielson will continue serving as an alternate (replacing Karen Falconer- Al-Hindi) for three-years from October 16, 2005, through October 15, 2008, per Resolution R2652.

The two representatives are elected by ballot vote to serve three-year terms from September 16, 2003, through September 15, 2006, to replace outgoing members Thomas Lorsbach and Roger Sindt. These newly elected representatives will also serve as alternates for three-years from September 16, 2006, through September 15, 2009. Thomas Lorsbach and Roger Sindt will continue serving as alternates (replacing Darryll Lewis and Jerry Cederblom) for three-years from September 16, 2003, through September 15, 2006, per Resolution 2501.
