Governance:
Purpose: Be responsible for the selection of the recipients of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Excellence in Teaching Award. Committee shall make its recommendations to the chancellor.
Membership: Six members appointed by the chancellor, and shall include two recipients of the UNO Excellence in Teaching Award (or the Great Teacher Award), one new (first year, if possible) UNO faculty member holding the Ph.D. degree, two faculty to remedy any imbalances of college representation on the committee, and one junior student (to be selected for the following year) with outstanding academic credentials.

RESOLUTION 4078, 3/13/13: Replacement on Excellence in Teaching Award Committee
BE IT RESOLVED , that Ana Cruz has agreed to replace Cynthia Robinson, who resigned last year and whose term runs through 7/31/14, as the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media representative, on the Excellence in Teaching Award Committee .

BE IT RESOLVED, that the following faculty be recommended for service on the University Committee on Excellence in Teaching to serve three-year terms from November 8, 2000, through July 31, 2003. Two members should be recipients of the award and one member should be untenured, if possible. This is also the first time the new position of first year faculty member holding a Ph.D.' is added as charged by the chancellor's Task Force on University Committees (Committee on Committees). Continuing committee members are Andrew Smallwood (A&S, 08/01/97 to 07/31/00) and Philip Secret (PACS, 08/01/98 to 07/31/01) both of whom were appointed by the chancellor prior to this responsibility being turned over to the faculty senate.
