UNO's named chairs and professorships recognize truly outstanding faculty. The requirements and eligibility for each chair/professorship varies but all require recipients to demonstrate outstanding performance in instruction, research and/or creative activity and/or service to the university, profession, and community. The chairs and professorships honor distinguished faculty and community leaders. The faculty holding the chairs and professorships continue the tradition of excellence and honor the legacy of the faculty and community leaders whose names the chairs and professorships carry.
