The UNL College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources' Winter Interim Teaching and Learning Workshop

The UNL College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources' Winter Interim Teaching and Learning Workshop will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (registration from 8:30-9:00 am) in the East Campus Union. Drawing on faculty recommendations from last year's workshop, the focus of the daylong, professional development experience will be on teaching with technology to improve learning.

The workshop will feature Dan Cotton, Director, eXtension, CSREES, USDA, speaking about "Future Technology." Next, a UNL faculty panel will share their experiences and perspectives on "How much does technology really improve learning?"

The remainder of the workshop will be comprised of six faculty-led demonstrations and discussions on how technology has been used in teaching, with some opportunities for "hands on" experience. The demonstration topics will be on the use of podcasting, online communications with Breeze, discussion boards, personal response systems (clickers), getting started on Blackboard, and working with images and documents for Blackboard.
