Civic Participation Project and Travel Grants Available to UNO Faculty

The Office of Academic and Student Affairs is pleased to announce travel grants (up to $650 per applicant) are available for faculty attending conferences related to the goals of UNO’s Civic Participation Project/American Democracy Project an AQIP (Academic Quality Improvement Program) Action Plan for campus accreditation. Priority will be given to faculty presenting or facilitating sessions at the conferences. The travel grants will fund expenses such as travel costs, registration, and/or hotel up to $650. Funding requests will be considered on an on-going basis until the allocated funding is expended. Faculty are encouraged to submit applications as early as possible. Please submit electronic applications for the travel funds to Paul Sather, Director, UNO Service Learning Academy/American Humanics and coordinator of UNO’s AQIP Civic Participation Project.

Applications for funding should include the following information:

  • Applicant name, Department/School, contact information
  • Conference Information (name, location)
  • Relation of Conference to UNO’s AQIP Civic Participation Project/American Democracy Project Initiative (see ADP website)
  • Applicant role at conference
  • Budget (estimated airfare, conference registration, hotel, etc).

By accepting funding, applicants are expected to provide a copy of their presentation and be willing to participate in a campus discussion related to the conference and/or their work.
