Why this information is important?
Feedback used in educational contexts is accepted as vital to improving knowledge and skill acquisition, and as a significant factor in motivating learning. Yet feedback can be given in ways that do not promote learning. Students who experience effective formative feedback show more learning success than students without effective formative feedback. Click here to find simple tips on giving feedback to help ALL students learn and current research on the topic.
This synthesis of research crystallizes clear guidelines for giving effective formative feedback. It identifies the particular features of formative feedback that are the most effective and efficient in promoting and sustaining learning.
