Welcome! We extend a cordial welcome to all participants of this year's European Studies Conference. This interdisciplinary gathering of scholars has facilitated an exchange of ideas, insights and reflections for more than thirty years. We are now looking forward to yet another stimulating and productive series of sessions that will focus upon multifaceted perspectives on the present, past and future of the European continent.
Keynote Speaker The keynote speaker at the luncheon on Friday will be Dr. Sara R. Horowitz from York University in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Horowitz is Professor of English, Division of Humanities, and Director, Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Studies at York University. You can find her short bio at this website Please note: We are again meeting on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This will provide us with several advantages that we did not have before. Among these are the uniquely extensive opportunities for increasing scholarly contacts and professional relationships among the attendees of the European Studies Conference and the Global Studies Conference: Africa, Asia, Latin America, Middle East, both of which are meeting at this time on our campus.
