Service Learning

As part of their P-16 service learning collaboration, Professor Hewins-Maroney's Core Topics in Social Issues class will be hosting a Hunger Banquet on campus for King Science Middle Schoolers, under the direction of Kris Denton. Together the students will discuss the relationship between social issues surrounding equity, food shortages, and sustainability systems to combat urban food deserts in the Omaha area. During the Hunger Banquet, the students will learn about the struggles faced by those who do not have access to food due to location, illness, or financial strain..

Wellness on Wheels | Dec. 11

Criss Library to Extend Hours for Prep and Finals Week

Criss Library will be offering extended hours for prep and finals week this semester. "We are pleased to offer students this additional time," said Steve Shorb, dean of Criss Library. The library will stay open until 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday during prep week, and Sunday through Wednesday during finals week to allow UNO students additional research and study hours.

Extended library hours schedule:

Monday-Thursday, Dec. 9-12: Open 7 am. to 1 a.m.
Sunday, Dec. 15: Open noon to 1 a.m.
Monday-Wednesday, Dec.16-18: Open 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.

API 'At the Ready' Drop-in Sessions

The Academic Partnership for Instruction (API), a division of Information Services (IS), will be offering drop in assistance during Prep Week in the Teaching and Technology Center, Kayser Hall 538, today through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help faculty prepare for the end of the fall semester and get ready for spring.

Instructional Designers will be on hand to show faculty how to copy a course from fall to spring, use the new Date Management tool to adjust pertinent dates within a course, download their Grade Center, and more.

SIS+ Unavailable After December

The legacy Student Information System known as SIS+ will be removed from service on Dec. 31, 2013. Peoplesoft (commonly referred to as Mavlink) has been the official system of record for student academic and financial records since Fall 2010 and should provide all necessary information regarding a student record.
