Blackboard Unavailable Aug. 18 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.

In order to upgrade and apply fixes to the Blackboard learning management system before the fall semester, Information Services (IS) has announced that Blackboard will be unavailable during the regular maintenance window on Sunday, Aug. 18, from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. The Blackboard downtime is scheduled to last approximately two hours, but the campus community may see intermittent availability or system adjustments as it is brought back online and tested.

The fixes and improvements include:

Test and Survey Options: Many new options that allow you to control the availability, presentation, and feedback for an assessment. Highlights include:
--Test Availability Exceptions : new settings allow you to select one or more students and make a number of exceptions to the already established availability settings to provide accommodations for such things as a disabled student, language differences, etc.
--Show Test Results and Feedback to Students : new options for the release of test results and feedback to students.

Content Editor Math Formulas: You now have full math editing capabilities on all platforms with the new JavaScript-based WIRIS editor that supports the editing and display of LaTeX formulas. To learn more, see Content Editor Math Formulas.

How Do I Learn More?
To get a closer look at these improvements, look for the New icon on the updated Blackboard Help site. This information can also be accessed by clicking the Help icon within Blackboard.
