Nominations Sought for UNO Employee of the Month
Do you know a UNO employee who provides outstanding service to his or her department, the division or university as a whole? Why are you waiting? Nominate them for the 'Oh, What a Difference You Make!' Award (Employee of the Month) for office/service and managerial/professional staff. Nominations may be submitted by students, staff, faculty, visitors and administrators, and must meet the criteria listed below.
-Employed by UNO for one year or longer.
-Be in good standing.
- Performing job above and beyond expectations;
- Interpersonal skills/communication;
- Knowledge of job; and
-Recipients receive $200, "rock star" parking for that month, recognition and photograph with the Chancellor, recognition at a Board of Regents meeting, a lapel pin and beverage holder.
-An Employee of the Month qualifies to be selected as Employee of the Year.
To nominate an employee, print and complete the nomination form and send it to Human Resources, EAB 205.
Parking Permits Now Available for Purchase
Parking permits for the 2013-2014 academic year are now available for purchase online at www.unomaha.edu/parking/.
On the UNO Parking website, click MavPark. The site will require a NetID and password (same as your Blackboard login) and vehicle information for all vehicles parking on campus. Your vehicle information will include the vehicle's make, model, color, and license plate number. Before going online, please have this information available. Permits must be displayed beginning Monday, August 26, 2013.
Parking Services will mail permits on Wednesday, August 7, for all orders received by Wednesday, July 31. After July 31, online orders must be picked up at the following locations:
-Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23--Eppley Administration Building: Auditorium
-Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27--Milo Bail Student Center: 3rd Floor, Council Room

East and West Parking Garages Closed for Maintenance July 20-21
The East and West Garages will be closed for power washing on Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21.
Parking is available in any surface lot (faculty, staff or student) during these times. Parking is not allowed on access roads, in reserved or handicap stalls (unless they display a valid handicap permit), fire lanes or drive aisles.

Heath Draney Solo Exhibition at Criss Library Through August 16

Mark Your Calendars: Academic Majors Expo September 17
The Academic & Career Development Center (ACDC) and student services staff across campus are collaborating to host an Academic Majors Expo on Tuesday, September 17, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
This will be an opportunity for new and continuing students to learn more about academic majors offered at UNO and identify career options associated with majors.

24th Annual Data Users Conference at UNO August 13
The UNO Center for Public Affairs Research will be holding its annual conference Tuesday, August 13, in the CPACS building and by webcast.
This conference focuses on economic and population data from the U.S. Census Bureau and Labor Departments. Highlighted this year will be information on health insurance, how Nebraska’s metro and nonmetro areas differ, hands-on computer training of web applications, and Nebraska’s population trends.

University Communications also launched updated brand guidelines for all campus departments, offices and organizations to utilize when using the UNO brand and communicating on behalf of the University through marketing and promotional materials.
