Wellness Wednesday at HPER Today
Managing stress through simple lifestyle changes and the use of basic techniques that anyone can do can help reduce stress-related damage to the brain, improve mental resilience and thwart cognitive decline as we age.
This event is FREE for all of the UNO community and is being held in HPER 138 today, July 10, from 12-12:45 p.m.
Lots D and E Closed for Construction Through August 15
Lots D and E, located between Strauss Performing Arts Center and the Criss Library, will be closed for construction from July 8 to August 15. These lots will be modified for visitor and special event use.
Starting on July 8 through August 25, the following temporary changes will be made to parking enforcement:
Surface lots on Dodge and Pacific Campuses will be open for all permits.
-Vehicles must park in white striped stalls.
-No parking is allowed in drive aisles, fire lanes and cross-hatched areas.
-Reserve and handicap parking is limited to authorized vehicles only.
-All valid permits, including Garage Only permits, will be accepted to park in surface lots, except metered stalls.
-Vehicles without valid permits will be subject to ticketing.
The East Parking Garage, behind Arts and Sciences Hall, will provide open parking.
-All three levels (Lots T, U and V) will be available for faculty, staff, student and visitor parking with no permit required.
Visitor Only pay parking will continue to be enforced at the meters from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
On Monday, August 26, which is the start of the fall semester, new 2013–2014 parking permits must be displayed and standard parking regulations will be enforced.

NBDC Brings Lean Product Development Workshop to UNO July 26
Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) is offering a new workshop aimed at getting products to market faster. This half-day intensive workshop will be held Friday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mammel Hall room 320 A/B and will introduce companies to the process of how to become sustainable.
The goal of the workshop is to focus participants on their companies’ shortcomings in the product development and launch arena, and to demonstrate that methods and tools are available to make rapid and significant improvements in resource utilization, product differentiation, time-to-market, and risk mitigation. All of which will translate directly to their bottom line.
The fee to attend is $299, and up to five employees are included for that price. Individual pricing is not included.
