Retirement Reception for Linda Parker Today

Linda Parker, associate professor and social sciences reference librarian, will retire on June 30, 2013.

The Criss Library will host a retirement reception for Linda today, June 27, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. in the Library Faculty Study. Please join in celebrating her distinguished career of 43 years as a librarian and her 21 years at UNO. Refreshments will be served.

Shakespeare on the Green Tonight: Titus Andronicus

UNO is once again working with the Nebraska Shakespeare Company to host Shakespeare on the Green, which is in its 27th year. This year's plays are Twelfth Night and Titus Andronicus, which has never before been performed as part of Shakespeare on the Green.

Titus Andronicus runs tonight through June 30, and July 2, 6 (discretion is advised).

Twelfth Night performs on July 3, 5, and 7.

SummerWorks Helps Clean Up Debris
On Tuesday, June 25, participants in this year's SummerWorks program were featured on WOWT for their work cleaning up debris from Monday's severe weather. SummerWorks is organized by UNO's Student-Community Leadership and Service office and provides summer jobs for 150 teenagers in the Omaha area.

Holloway Discusses DOMA, Prop 8 Decisions
On Wednesday, June 26, Carson Holloway, associate professor of political science, talked with 1290 KOIL, KIOS-FM and the Omaha World-Herald on the topic of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act and rescind the case for Proposition 8 back to the Circuit Court – effectively ruling the law unconstitutional.

Parking Lot Reservations for 2013 Shakespeare on the Green

This year Shakespeare on the Green is scheduled for June 27-June 30; July 2 & 3 and July 5 -July 7.

The south and west stalls in Lot M (south of Criss Library) and the east row of stalls in Lot J--Level 3 (the West Parking Garage) will be reserved all day on performance nights.

Shuttle bus drop off and pick up will continue in Lot M throughout the performances.

Classroom Response System (Clickers) Survey Available Until July 1

In order to improve instructional technology training and development opportunities for UNO faculty and staff, the Academic Partnership for Instruction (API), a division of Information Services (IS), periodically asks for campus feedback. In order to gauge the use of Classroom Response Systems (Clickers) at UNO, we are currently asking faculty and staff for their participation in a short 'Clicker' survey.

The survey is available and will be open for responses until July 1.

Parking Permits Available for Purchase Beginning July 1

Parking permits for the 2013-2014 academic year will be available for purchase online at www.unomaha.edu/parking/ beginning July 1.

On the UNO Parking website, click MavPark. The site will require a NetID and password (same as your Blackboard login) and vehicle information for all vehicles parking on campus. Your vehicle information will include the vehicle's make, model, color, and license plate number. Before going online, please have this information available. Permits must be displayed beginning Monday, August 26, 2013.

Parking Services will mail permits on Wednesday, August 7, for all orders received by Wednesday, July 31. After July 31, online orders must be picked up at the following locations:

Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23: Eppley Administration Building – Auditorium

Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27: Milo Bail Student Center – 3rd Floor, Council Room

Lot W Closed for Construction Zone Access July 1-July 31

Sidewalk replacement is scheduled between the main entrance on the north side of Arts and Sciences Hall and the south entrance to Kayser Hall.

This construction project is scheduled from July 1-July 31. Lot W, on the east side of Arts and Sciences Hall, will be closed during this project. Dump trucks, concrete trucks and construction equipment will be entering and exiting Lot W during the project.

Handicap parkers should contact Parking Services to arrange access to Lot V for temporary handicap parking.

Alternate surface parking for faculty and staff is available all day in Lot A, north of Kayser Hall, and St. Margaret Mary Church Lot.

On Wednesday, July 3, TD Ameritrade will host the annual College Home Run Derby, followed by the 29th Annual Omaha World-Herald Fireworks.
