Upgrade to Office 365 Webmail and Campus Wireless Changes
In the next three weeks, Information Services (IS) will upgrade Office 365 Webmail and change the campus wireless access.
June 27 - July 5, 2013:
The current UNO faculty / staff webmail (Office 365) will be upgraded by Microsoft. Upgrades to this cloud-based system are controlled by Microsoft, and we are provided an “upgrade window”, so Information Services (IS) is currently unable to provide a specific date or time for this change. This upgrade will only involve Office 365 email accessed via the Web and does not involve the Outlook email client.
Here’s what can be expected during the service upgrade:
You shouldn’t experience any email interruptions in Outlook or on mobile devices.
If you happen to be checking your email with the Outlook Web App when your email account is updated, you may need to sign out and then sign back in.
You won’t need to change anything on your computer, in Outlook, or on any mobile device you use.
After the service upgrade, some changes and additional features will be noticed on the Outlook Web App. Check out the changes to the webmail here.
July 1, 2013:
In an effort to improve wireless security on the UNO campus, the existing UNOWireless network will be disabled, requiring faculty, staff, and students to use the UNOSecure network with their UNO Net ID login to connect.
Guests at UNO will continue to be able to access the internet (no secure content) via the UNOGuest network without a password. Wireless devices may need to be reset to access either UNOSecure or UNOGuest.
Although both changes are relatively simple, they may cause confusion on campus. IS will post updates and additional information to Upgrade Central and UNO eNotes. Please feel free to contact IS Technical Support at 402.554.4357 (4-HELP) or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or concerns about the changes for either service.
Parking Passes Available for Purchase July 1
Parking passes for the 2013-2014 academic year will be available July 1. They will be available for online purchase only. For more information, visit the UNO Parking Website.

Nebraska Business Development Center Brings Lean Product Development Workshop to UNO July 26
Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) is offering a new workshop aimed at getting products to market faster. This half-day intensive workshop will be held Friday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mammel Hall room 320 A/B and will introduce companies to the process of how to become sustainable.
“This half-day class is recommended for anyone that is willing to learn a basic understanding of Lean Product Development as a means to grow your current business,” says Renee Held. “You will learn to develop a forward thinking method to grow your business by creating opportunities to enter new markets.”
The goal of the workshop is to focus participants on their companies’ shortcomings in the product development and launch arena, and to demonstrate that methods and tools are available to make rapid and significant improvements in resource utilization, product differentiation, time-to-market, and risk mitigation. All of which will translate directly to their bottom line.
The instructor is Ed Maier, who has over 30 years of experience in product development. He is a Certified Lean Product Development Master Instructor, Innovation Engineering Black Belt, and a Business Growth Coach.
For more information about this workshop or to register, call Renee Held at 402.564.0105 or email@example.com.
