Leave Requests Over July Fourth Holiday
If you plan on using vacation hours around the July Fourth holiday, please pay special attention to requests that fall during that week. Normally you can submit leave for several days within the same week, but this is not the case when a holiday falls within the specific days. Example: if you plan on taking vacation Wednesday, July 3, through Friday, July 5, you will need to submit a leave request for Wednesday and another request for Friday. Creating the two requests will accurately post your vacation to your employee record.
Splitting of requested vacation time will also be necessary for leave requests spanning the Labor Day holiday weekend in September.

Log Your Miles with the National Bike Challenge!
UNO is looking for faculty, staff and students to participate in this year's National Bike Challenge. The National Challenge runs May 1 to August 31. You can join any time during this period and ANY amount of cycling will count (both miles and number of trips) toward helping UNO compete against other universities across the country. You can also win prizes! Even if you ride a few times this summer, we need you to join the team.
By joining the National Bike Challenge, we will also be participating in the Activate Omaha Bike To Work challenge running May 1 to October 1. Activate Omaha has joined in a partnership with the National challenge so we only need to record data once. UNO has won our local division the last five years in a row, and we want to make sure we win again this year, so sign up today!
It's never been easier to participate. You can sign up for an Endomondo account and join the Challenge at http://www.endomondo.com/campaign/national.
Enter “University of Nebraska at Omaha” when it asks for your workplace or university and accept notifications from Activate Omaha. Then you can download the optional app to record your commutes on your smartphone or iPod, or record your commute in the online calendar at your convenience. Get more details about the challenge and how to record your rides at http://www.endomondo.com/campaign/national/welcome.
