Blackboard Upgrade Scheduled for May 5

Blackboard will be unavailable on Sunday, May 5 from 6 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m. (noon) to install Service Pack 10 and 11 (SP 10/11). Please be aware that, prior to noon, there may be intermittent connectivity due to system testing as Blackboard is brought back online.

This upgrade will not radically affect the functionality of Blackboard. The tools and features students and faculty have grown accustomed to are relatively the same. The most significant impact of the upgrade, will be new Global Navigation through the My Blackboard panel. Additional new features include Assessment Item Analysis, Automated Regrading on Tests, InLine Assignment Grading, Mobile Support for Mashups, and Video Everywhere.

Enhancements of existing features included in this upgrade are: Calendar integration with Due Dates; a "Post before Viewing the Forum" setting in the Discussion Board; and a Fill in the Blank Question Enhancement. This upgrade will also fix the problem with the math equation editor that was discovered in the spring semester.

To get a closer look at these improvements and more:
- Review this brief Blackboard presentation highlighting the enhancements.
- Register and attend hands-on training starting May 6th. For a complete schedule of training sessions go to http://api.unomaha.edu/calendar.php
- Review the updated Blackboard Help section on the IS/API Web site (http://api.unomaha.edu/blackboard/9resources.php). This information can also be accessed by clicking the Help icon within Blackboard.
