Across the campus several departments and organizations have given to others less fortunate this holiday season. In the Registrar's Office, staff poses with gifts generously donated for the department's adopt-a-family before their delivery.
This Day in UNO History
On Dec. 31...
- At a special session of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, members approve the sale of 140 acres at the north end of Aksarben to First Data Resources. As part of the purchase, FDR agrees to donate half the land to UNO, which planned to build its new College of Information Science & Technology on the site, 1997.
- UNO students join other university students in Pascagoula, Miss., to help with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, 2005.

Last January, Human Resources announced the updated Employee of the Month --"Oh" Award for "Oh, what a difference you make!" -- program for UNO staff members. HR administers the program in conjunction with the Office of the Chancellor and Staff Advisory Council. They welcome nominations from faculty, staff, students, vendors and visitors. Mail Services Holiday Shutdown Hours
Mail Services will be serving the campus community on a limited basis during the holiday shutdown. Only departmental postage will be applied daily (no sales of postage for personal use). The service counter window will be open from 9 to 10 a.m. today, Dec. 31, for anyone wishing to retrieve department mail.

Campus Hours Over Winter Break 2012
UNO students are on Winter Break. During the break, a number of buildings on the UNO campus will feature holiday hours leading up to the start of the Spring 2013 semester on Monday, Jan. 7.
Also during the break, campus will be officially closed Monday, Dec. 24, through Tuesday, Jan. 1. During the closedown, faculty and staff will be gone, but some buildings will continue modified hours. Read more for the Winter Break hours.Up to Top
