College of Business Administration and Sensiple to Host Social Media Summit
The College of Business Administration will host a Social Media Summit for business professionals on Friday, Aug. 24. The free event will run from 8 a.m. until noon at Mammel Hall.
"Less than 40 percent of companies have seriously thought about social media," said Jonna Holland, an associate professor of marketing and one of the summit's organizers. "We all know about Facebook, Twitter and the other platforms, but business professionals still are working through how best to use them."
Holland plans on giving a presentation titled "An Overview of Social Media Integration into Business Strategy" at the start of the day. Other presenters will address topics like social media customer service, social measurement case studies and how organizations can become social enterprises.
The Social Media Summit is sponsored by Sensiple Software, a Global IT solution provider offering technology solutions and managed services. The company is headquartered in New Jersey and has offices in Omaha and Singapore.

2012-13 UNO Faculty/Staff HPER Membership Information
Join UNO Campus Recreation or renew your annual faculty/staff Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Building membership. Payroll deductions are now being accepted for the upcoming academic year. The membership allows you access to the facility and programs from August to August.
All UNO faculty/staff (regular full-time and regular part-time, .50 FTE or greater for more than six months) are eligible to pay via payroll deduction.
Faculty/staff needing a payroll deduction form can stop by the Campus Recreation office in 104 HPER. It is necessary to complete the form and return it to Campus Recreation no later than Friday, Aug. 10, so that the necessary paperwork can be processed with the Payroll Department for automatic deductions.

Former Mav Saka at Olympic Games
Former UNO sprint standout Pinar Saka will be one of 49 athletes from Turkey competing for her country in the 2012
Olympic Summer Games in London.
Saka will compete in the 400 meters, an event she excelled at while running for UNO. She is currently ranked 56th in the world with a time of 51.60 and will be the first Turkish woman to ever compete in the event in the Olympics. Read more.
TIAA CREF Rep Openings Available This Summer
Openings still remain for TIAA-CREF representative campus visits set for this summer. The dates: Aug. 14 and 21.
