KVNO to Offer Two New Concert Series

KVNO-FM, UNO’s classical music radio station, is proud to announce two new concert broadcast series featuring two renowned Omaha cultural institutions.

Premiering later this year, KVNO will present encore performances of the highly acclaimed 'Omaha Chamber Music Societies Summer Concert Series.' KVNO Music Director Ben Rasmussen will produce and host this four-part series that will feature commentary and insights into the music they perform by the musicians themselves.

Also making a return to the Omaha airwaves will be a new season of concerts presented by the 'Tuesday Musical Concert Series.' Tuesday Musical has been presenting the finest in concert music performances in Omaha for the past 120 years. KVNO's Chris Hopp, a formally trained classical pianist, will produce and host this program featuring live performance recordings from the Joslyn Art Museum's Witherspoon Concert Hall.

KVNO's Josh Krohn, production coordinator, will be the recording engineer for both of these programs.

KVNO's Assistant General Manager Dana Buckingham said these two new programs, along with another great season of thirteen concert broadcasts by the Omaha Symphony, represent KVNO's renewed commitment to promoting local artists and musicians by providing a broader forum and stage to showcase their talents. Buckingham noted that "none of this would be possible without the financial support of our listeners, whose contributions and commitment to KVNO have supported classical music radio in the greater Omaha metro for the past forty years."
