Flag Lowering
The UNO flag will be lowered to half-staff today, July 20, in honor of UNO retiree Fred Sutton Jr. He passed away July 10 at 83. Sutton, a custodian II, worked for Environmental Services in the Physical Plant for more than 26 years prior to his retirement in 2002.
An 11 a.m. visitation followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service will take place today, July 20, at Thomas Funeral Home, 3920 N. 24 St., in Omaha. Read more.
Up to TopMav-Rec Wellness Morning Stretch This A.M. in Library
Mav-Rec Wellness will offer a morning stretch program on Mondays and Fridays this summer. The program will be held at different buildings on campus. Today's Morning Stretch will be in the Criss Library Garden. If there is a weather issue the location will be moved to the library's atrium.
The stretching is non-strenuous, and done in the standing or sitting position, so that all employees can attend regardless of attire.
It is from 7:45 to 7:55 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays. Employees can take part, and make it to their worksites by 8 a.m.
Those who can't participate are encouraged to stretch at their worksites on their own. Click on this link for a list of stretches.

Annual Conference Gives Free Financial, Housing Advice
Family Housing Advisory Services, Inc (FHAS), has teamed up with local experts to provide resources to assist participants in the areas of housing and personal finances as part of the fourth annual "Surviving in Today's Economy Conference."
This free financial conference will be held at UNO's College of Public Affairs and Community Service building this Saturday, July 21, from 8 a.m. to noon. Read more.

Paul Kosel, assistant manager of campus security, was featured in an Omaha World-Herald story about crime reporting on university campuses. The story examined local university's practices in the wake of a report detailing the failures of Pennsylvania State's reporting procedures and the crimes of former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. Facilities Management and Planning announces beginning Monday, July 23, Lot M (south side of Criss Library) will have a temporary entrance in the southeast corner and also a temporary sidewalk on the southeast corner of the Criss Library. Work will continue through Aug. 3, 2012.

To access your salary notification in Firefly, do the following:
- Click the Employee Self Service tab.
- In the Payment section, click the Annual Salary Notification link.
The salary notification will open in PDF format. You can save it to your computer and/or print. Note: depending on your version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, the toolbar showing the print and save icons may not appear. To view the toolbar, press F8 on your keyboard.
This Annual Salary Notification link will remain in ESS until the following year and only the current year's notification will be accessible.
