Up to TopMassa To Take Year Off
UNO head hockey coach Dean Blais announced June 11 that sophomore goaltender Ryan Massa will be taking a year off for personal reasons and will not compete again for the Mavericks until the 2013-14 season.
"We respect Ryan's decision and wish him the best in the upcoming year," said Blais. "Per NCAA rules, he has five years in which to complete four years of competition, and we'll look forward to his return in 2013-14.
"We are fortunate to have John Faulkner and Dayn Belfour returning as well as incoming freshman Anthony Stolarz joining our roster, and we think all three will do a very good job for us." Read more.
Up to TopLot U (Middle Level of East Parking Garage) Closed for Construction Starting Friday
Lot U construction schedule has been revised. Lot U is now scheduled to be closed this Friday, July 13, for installation of new overhead lights.
This work will start when overhead light installation is completed on the Lower Level, Lot T.
Faculty/Staff with access to Lot U, will be able to enter Lot T. This project is estimated to be completed in approximately four weeks.

Up to TopUNO Invited to Join 'Get Up and Ride' National Bike Challenge
UNO students, faculty and staff are invited to join the "Get Up and Ride" National Bike Challenge.
The challenge encourages participants to bike for transportation and for the fun or riding. In addition, it advocates cycling for improving health, saving money and helping the environment. Participants can also win prizes at the end of the challenge.
UNO participants can compete against other universities by signing up at http://www.endomondo.com/campaign/local and log their miles ridden for transportation and recreation.
The challenge lasts until Aug. 31 and is free to all individuals, teams and organizations. Sponsors include the League of American Bicyclists, Bikes Belong and Kimberly-Clark.

Up to TopVoice Over PowerPoint Training Offered
The Academic Partnership for Instruction (API), a division of Information Services (IS), is offering a hands-on session for faculty and staff interested in learning how to record audio over PowerPoint presentations on Friday, July 20, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in 543 Kayser Hall.
This session will cover adding pre-recorded audio to a slide, recording your own voice narration to a single slide or an entire presentation and how to compress presentations.
Space is limited, so register early. Although there is a limit of six seats, we will take a waiting list for a future training. To register for this training go to http://api.unomaha.edu/calendar.php.
