Pond Construction Begins

Work is under way to bring a Bioretention Pond to UNO's campus. The new pond will greet visitors to the Welcome Center (map) (Hayden House) and pedestrians who happen upon it near the west end of Dodge Street Location.

Shakespeare on the Green Continues This Evening
For its 26th season, Nebraska Shakespeare's Shakespeare on the Green festival returns to Elmwood Park with two classic plays: "Julius Caesar" and "The Comedy of Errors." Performances of "The Comedy of Errors" officially start tonight, June 28, and run through Saturday, June 30.
The two professional productions are free to the public and regularly attended by thousands, many of who arrive early with picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs to get a good spot "on the Green," which is located at the northwest end of Elmwood Park. Parking Lot Reservations for 2012 Shakespeare on the Green
The remaining Shakespeare on the Green scheduled is June 28-July 1 and July 5-8.
The south and west stalls in Lot M and the west stalls in Lot Q will be reserved all-day on performance nights.
In addition, on Special Event Nights (July 6) all of Lot M will be reserved continuing all through the day.

Access to the Annual Salary Notification to be Unavailable
The link to access the Annual Salary Notification for 2011-2012 on Firefly will be unavailable beginning this Saturday, June 30. Faculty and staff can view, print or download the letter up until that date.

UNO Belltower Concert Set for July 4
The bells on UNO's campus will sound in honor of America on Wednesday, July 4, for "Let Freedom Ring," an outdoor carillon concert beginning at 9 a.m.
UNO carilloneur James Johnson will perform a 40-minute concert of patriotic and American folk music. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and sit on the grassy area between Criss Library and the Strauss Performing Arts Center. The concert will occur rain or shine. The community is invited to listen from their cars should inclement weather occur.
The Henningson Memorial Campanile, rising 168 feet over the UNO campus, is one of only 180 such structures in the United States. It was donated to UNO in 1989 by Margre Henningson Durham and her husband, Chuck, as a standing memorial to Margre's father, mother and sister. Margre Durham passed away in 1999; Chuck Durham passed away in 2008. Read more.Up to Top
Criss Library Closed July 4
Criss Library will be closed Wednesday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. The library will reopen at 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 5.

Bank of the West Concert Tomorrow; Free Parking at UNO
The annual "Bank of the West Celebrates America" concert takes place this Friday, June 29, at Memorial Park from 6 to 10 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and UNO will again provide free parking.
This year's entertainment includes Huey Lewis and The News and Mockingbird Sun. A fireworks grand finale will follow the performances at 10 p.m.
Be aware that campus parking usually fills by 7 p.m. In addition to surface parking lots, UNO's multi-level parking garage (University Drive East Parking Structure) will be open after 4 p.m. Event organizers encourage those who park on campus to use the pedestrian overpass when crossing Dodge Street. Shuttle service between the UNO Dodge and Pacific campuses stops at 6 p.m. during the summer. People who park at the Pacific Campus for the concert will not be able to take the shuttle back to their cars after 6 p.m.
