Civic Leadership Education

Students, Teachers, Visit UNO for Civic Leadership Education

The UNO Political Science Department will be taking high school seniors from around the state, as well as their government teachers, to Washington D.C. this week as part of the Nebraska Civic Leadership Project, which started June 10.

UNO Jazz Camp to Feature Concerts by Jim Widner

The Jim Widner Big Band will provide plenty of excitement for this year's jazz camp put on by the UNO Department of Music. The camp runs through Friday, June 22.

Held annually, the UNO Jazz Camp brings in middle school, high school and college students, as well as adults, to learn techniques practiced by the world's premier jazz musicians.

As part of camp festivities, the Jim Widner Big Band will perform five concerts throughout the week, at 8 p.m. every night except for Wednesday. Widner is a 40-year veteran of the music industry and current Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Read more.Up to Top

Professor Talks Home Prices With Newspaper

Steven Shultz, a professor of real estate and land use economics from the College of Business Administration, talked about his Omaha-area housing study with the Omaha World-Herald.  The story was a significant one in the newspaper last weekend.  It's available online by clicking here.

Parking Lot Reservations for 2012 Shakespeare on the Green

This year Shakespeare on the Green is scheduled for June 21-24; June 28-July 1 and July 5-8.

The south and west stalls in Lot M and the west stalls in Lot Q will be reserved all-day on performance nights.

In addition, on Special Event Nights (June 21 and July 6) all of Lot M will be reserved continuing all through the day.

Temporary Shuttle Bus Drop Off and Pick Up Near Bell Tower

The Shuttle Bus will drop off and pick up in Lot Q, near the Bell Tower all-day this Thursday, June 21.

Lot M is closed all-day June 21 for "Shakespeare on the Green Special Event" parking.

Discount Memberships Available to Lauritzen Gardens through June 30

UNO faculty and staff are eligible for a $10 discount on memberships to Lauritzen Gardens. To receive the discount, memberships must be purchased by Saturday, June 30.
